狄仁杰（630年－700年），唐代（618-907）政治家，公正不阿、执法如山，以不畏权贵著称。狄仁杰判案如神，无一冤案，被誉为中国古代的“福尔摩斯”。
《黄金案》描写狄仁杰从京师外放任蓬莱县令，正遇上前任县令王立德被人害死。在侦查过程中，船业主叶守本新近雇用的卜凯疑点大，紧接着又有两人失踪、被害，使案情更趋复杂。狄仁杰凭他的大智大勇以及深厚广博的刑事侦讯经验和严密的逻辑推理能力，从一尊无量寿佛上，查获了偷运贩卖黄金的一伙罪犯，让案情大白，水落石出。
