随着改革开放的日益加深和经济全球化的不断发展，英语作为国际交往中的主要语言之一，起着越来越重要的作用。为了帮助英语学习人士更多地了解英美文化生活习惯，更有效地同外国人进行交际，组织编写了这套《轻松英语会话》丛书。本书为其中的分冊《轻松英语会话——联想l000词》。
与同类书相比，本书有以下一些主要特色：
1.根据对话发生的场合，全书分为16篇，分别为：日常交际、电话、日常生活、问候与天气、饮食、交通、工作、购物、时间与日期、娱乐、旅行与度假、爱情与婚姻、教育与考试、体育、就医、语言。
2.每一篇皆含有若干个小标题。小标题皆为日常生活中经常碰到的句子，尽显口语化，非常实用。
3.每个小标题皆含有若干个小对话。对话中皆含有小标题或与本标题句式或意义相关的句子，用横线标明。“背景快递”部分介绍了与**个小对话主题相关的英美文化背景知识，是读者了解英美风情的一把钥匙。
4.为了扩大读者的词汇量，我们在每篇的末尾搜集了与本篇内容相关的词汇。其中词性不同的词汇皆标有词性。
5.为了突出直观的效果，在书中配备了精美别致、形象生动的插图，并与对话的内容相一致，做到图文并茂，相辅相成。
