胡敏,湖财华容人,人称“胡雅思”,新东方教育集团总裁、北京新东方学校第二任校长,**英语教学与测试专家,留英学者。十九岁湖南湘潭大学英语系本科毕业,一九八八年获上海师范大学英语系英语语言学硕士学位,二十八岁破格晋升副教授,原国际关系学院英文系副主任、英语专业硕士生导师。从事高校英语教育事业近二十年,多次获**教师称号、青年教师讲课比赛优胜奖,荣获北京市第五届哲学社会科学**成果二等奖,在全国各种英语语言文学专业学刊上发表学术论文数十篇,现已出版英语著作数十部。多次应邀赴英联邦**、日本**大学和语言学校进行学术交流。一九九五年到新东方任兼职托福教师,在新东方开创国内考试培训部和雅思考试培训部,包括四级、六级、考研英语、雅思四种培训项目,在英语培训领域提出自己独特的教学理念——改进学习方法、提高应试技巧、加强英语实力、升华事业人生,这一理念在新东方的课堂上得以贯彻并为广大学员所认可
